Complete Pool Winterization Near You
When you work with our seasoned pool technicians at Swim Pro, we handle every detail of getting your pool ready for the winter, from lowering water levels to winter-prepping all the piping and equipment. Careful winter prep also means that pool opening in the spring will be a breeze. Here’s what’s included in our professional pool winterization service:
Water Level Adjustment & Line Protection
You may be wondering if you should just drain your pool for the winter season, and the short answer is no.
Completely draining a pool can actually do a lot more harm than good; removing all the water actually makes
your pool vulnerable to structural damage (cracking, warping, etc).
Our technicians use professional-grade equipment to lower the water to the correct level, just below the
skimmer line, and remove all the water from plumbing lines and pool equipment. This will protect them from
freezing when the temperatures drop.
Chemical Balancing for Winter Storage
Once the water is at the right level, it can be tempting to just let the water sit, but it’s actually really
important to make sure the water is chemically balanced; otherwise, you can end up with staining, scale
buildup, and dirty water in the spring.
We also add pool-safe antifreeze solution to the water so that it doesn’t freeze and expand, which will
cause damage to your pool.
Pool Cover Installation & Inspection
The last step before we close up your pool for the season is getting the pool cover inspected and installed.
We’ll make sure that there are no tears, worn straps, or weakened anchor points on your cover.
When we go to install the cover, we’ll do a perimeter check to make sure all edges are sealed and there are
no wrinkles or bunching, so that no debris, snow, or ice can get through and cause more damage. A well-fitted
cover will also prevent any accidents from happening, keep wildlife out, and make spring opening much quicker
and cleaner.
