Full-Range Pool Opening Services Near You

Our professional pool technicians will make sure that every part of getting your pool back up and running is taken care of. We want our customers to be able to start enjoying their pool as soon as the warm weather arrives without the hassle and worry of performing the pool opening themselves.

Winter Cover Removal & Storage

Once the risk of a hard frost or freezing temperatures has passed, the pool can be opened safely. In Lexington, this typically means late March through the middle of April, but it will depend on current weather patterns.

The first step in the process is to remove the pool cover. Though it seems straightforward, you have to be very careful when removing the pool cover.  We are careful not to damage the coping, tiles, or pool edges when removing the pool cover. Once the cover is removed, we’ll thoroughly clean and store it so that it’s ready for the next winter.

Equipment, Plumbing, and System Inspection

The next step is for us to restore the water to appropriate levels and check all of the pool equipment, plumbing, and systems to make sure they are working properly after a long winter. We remove all of the winter plugs from your equipment and plumbing lines. Then we carefully start up every system (pumps, filters, and heaters) to make sure there are no leaks, cracks, worn-out parts, etc. During this process, we conduct a detailed inspection of all your equipment and systems so that you have a record of our findings and any recommendations for repairs or replacements that we have.

Water Chemistry Balancing

Next, we need to prepare the pool water itself. In our pool winterization process, the pool water level is lowered to protect skimmers, and we drain any water in the equipment and plumbing lines to keep them from freezing. Thanks to these preparations, opening the pool will be much smoother. During the pool opening, we raise the water back to the proper level and test the skimmer and pumps to make sure everything is running smoothly. Once that is finished, we test and rebalance the pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer levels to make sure the pool water is clean, clear, and swim-ready.
